JAMMU, Aug 18: The body of a 6-year-old child, who had drowned yesterday in a canal originating from Tawi river, was recovered today from the same canal in Channi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the drowned child has been identified as Ashu son of Raj Kumar, resident of Madhya Pradesh (at present near JK Resort). He said that the body of the child was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities.
