Body found on road side, 2 die in mishaps

JAMMU, Dec 5: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Reasi area while dead body of an unidentified person was found lying on the road side in Mahanpur area of Basohli in district Kathua today.
A police spokesman said that one Bihari Lal, son of Ram Singh, resident of Beulian near Pouni in district Reasi, received serious head injuries after his tractor over turned in Pouni area today. He was coming back after ploughing fields when the mishap occurred. He was rushed to hospital at Pouni, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The police registered a case in this connection. After postmortem and conducting legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
The driver of a tipper, bearing registration No. JK02V/3375 was killed while cleaner seriously injured, after the vehicle rolled into a gorge in Arnas area of Reasi. The police said mishap took place on Tuesday morning and both the injured were referred to GMC Jammu from Arnas hospital. One of them namely, Banti, son of Vir Singh, resident of Arnas died in GMC hospital here today while, the condition of Mukesh Kumar (cleaner), son of Kaka Ram of Arnas, was said to be serious. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, dead body of an unidentified middle aged man was found lying on the road side in Mahanpur area of tehsil Basohli in district Kathua this morning. Some people noticed the body and informed concerned police. The police party rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Basohli hospital. It was kept in the mortuary for identification. The police said that a case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered and investigation started. It said that messages have been flashed to different police stations. It can not be certainly said whether he was thrown from a moving vehicle, fell down himself or was done to death. The investigation was in progress.
