SRINAGAR, Apr 9: The body of British tourist who was stabbed to death in a house boat in Srinagar was today flown to New Delhi where from it will be flown to United Kingdom.
The body of British tourist Sarah Groves was kept in mortuary at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences hospital.
According to SHO Ram Munshi Bagh, Nazir Wangnoo, two officials of British Embassy arrived here and were handed over the body. The officials of British embassy in New Delhi had approached the Jammu and Kashmir Government for the body of Sara.
Sara, 24, was stabbed to death by a Dutch tourist Richard de Wit, 43, in a houseboat in Dal Lake on April 6, 2013. De Wit was arrested as he tried to flee in a taxi in the wee hours after the British woman was found dead.
Richard De Wit had confessed to killing British tourist Groves but he has not given any details. He said he had taken drugs and the Special Investigation Team of Jammu and Kashmir Police is investigating the case.  Richard has smashed the latch of the houseboat cabin door, where Alizebt was sleeping and had stabbed her to death.
Jammu and Kashmir Police said they had spoken to de Wit’s wife in the Netherlands who told them her husband had a history of psychiatric problems. De Wit, who was staying in a room adjacent to the victim had started staying in the houseboat last Thursday.
Investigators said that Sara Alizebt Grosse had arrived in Valley on February 13, 2013 and it was her second visit to Kashmir. Investigators said Alizebt was girl friend of Sameer Ahmad, the son of houseboat owner.
