Srinagar, June 7: Police today recovered body of a constable who was murdered by a Special Police Officer (SPO) after the former sexually assaulted, him from Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Handwara, Shabir Khan said after hectic efforts during past five days, today police was successful in retrieving body of Constable Sameer Ji Kumar from Puhroo stream. “We will as quick as possible present challan in the court. We have already arrested the accused SPO. The investigation is on,” he said.
As has been already reported, the constable was killed by an SPO after he sodomized the latter at Pahalgam last month. Police have already constituted two special investigation teams to probe the matter. After retrieving the body of the deceased, police conducted his post-mortem at Handwara hospital. The deceased’s parents are presently residing at Nagrota in Jammu.
