JAMMU, May 19: Police today claimed they have recovered the body of the second youth who drowned in Tawi River at Kishenpur area under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
Two youth, identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Jugal Singh, and Abhishek Thakur son of Ranjeet Singh, both residents of Kishenpur, drowned in the river on Friday evening after which a rescue operation was launched by the teams of Police, NDRF and SDRF.
Body of one of the youth Rajinder Singh was recovered from the river around 3 pm on Saturday while the body of the other youth, Abhishek Thakur, who was a constable in the Border Security Force (BSF), was recovered from the river today around 10 am by a team of Police, Army’s 9 Para Battalion, NDRF and SDRF.
Police have launched inquest proceedings to ascertain the cause of the death of the youth.
