JAMMU, May 18: The dead body of an 18-year-old boy was recovered today from River Tawi.
The deceased was identified as Ansh Khokhar son of Vijay Khokhar, resident of Valmiki Colony (Gandhi Nagar, Jammu), sources said, adding, he along with one of his friends had drowned in River Tawi yesterday afternoon when they were bathing in the River at Hari ki Poudi, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu.
“While dead body of one boy was recovered last evening, body of Ansh could not be traced by the SDRF personnel despite many efforts and the search operation had to be suspended in the evening due to darkness,” sources added.
They said search operation was initiated once again this morning and after hectic efforts, the body of the Ansh was recovered and later, shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem.
Bagh-e-Bahu Police had already taken cognizance of the matter.
