Body of man drowned in Tawi river fished out

JAMMU, May 3: Police have traced out the body of a 35-year-old man who drowned in Tawi river at Bajalta area on April 30, 2023.
A police spokesperson said that one Sunil Saha (35) son of Guni Saha of Bihar at present Bajalta drowned into Tawi river at around 3 pm on April 30 while he was catching fishes in the river.
Soon after getting the information, teams of NDRF, SDRF, and Police Post Sidhra swung into action to trace out the missing person, he said.
“After three days of their hectic efforts, the body of the deceased was finally fished out of the river today,” the police spokesperson further said.
While body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu a case under relevant sections of the law stands registered at concerned police station.
