Body of RDD employee recovered from river bank

RAJOURI, July 9: Mystery shrouds the death of a young Rural Development Department (RDD) employee, whose dead body was recovered from the bank of Anas river at Kotranka this evening.
The deceased was identified as Javed Ahmed, son of Mohd Rashid, a resident of Panihad village in Kandi (Kotranka). He was working as Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) in the Rural Development Department and was placed in Darhal area.
He had gone to the house of his relatives in that area and today evening his dead body was recovered from the bank of river Anas near main bridge at Kotranka at around 6.30 pm. Some people noticed the body and informed police. The police rushed to the area, examined the spot and then shifted the body to Kotranka hospital for postmortem. Apparently he had not washed away in river as earlier suspected.
The police suspect it as a case of murder. It said Rs 100 cash, a gold ring and mobile phone, were recovered from his possession. The inquest proceedings have been initiated in this connection. The police said to have lifted some suspects in this connection.
