POONCH, Mar 21: Body of a young woman was recovered from a river at Nagali Sahib area under the jurisdiction of Poonch Police Station, here this morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahmim Akhter (42), wife of Mohd Shafiq of Dhelera in Khanka area of Poonch. The body was spotted by some locals. On being informed, SHO Poonch Nishant Gupta reached the spot and retrieved the body, which was later taken to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Even as drowning seems to be cause of the death, there was head injury on body of the deceased. A case in this connection has been registered under section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
