JAMMU, Sept 20: The dead body of an old woman was found today in a canal in Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the dead body of an unidentified woman was this morning spotted by some locals in a canal in Narwal Pain area of city outskirts.
He said on the information, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. “Later the deceased woman was identified as Nimo Parmoo (62) wife of Anil Parmoo, resident of Paloura”, the spokesman said, adding, after conducting post mortem the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
“A case in this connection has been registered at police station Satwari and investigation started to ascertain the cause of death of the woman”, the spokesman added.
