JAMMU, Feb 1: A male dead body was recovered today from a canal in Bishnah area.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of a person identified as Paramjit Singh (45) son of Pritam Singh, a resident of Dinanagar in Punjab, was recovered from a canal at Kothi Morh area of Bishnah.
The body was first spotted by some locals who informed the police. On getting information, a police team from police station Bishnah reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Hospital Bishnah, where after conducting post mortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
According to the reports, the deceased had come to his in-laws home at Kothi Morh. On Sunday evening, he had gone to meet some of his friends at Narwal from where he returned late night in inebriated condition and accidently fell into the canal at Kothi Morh.
The concerned police has registered a case under relevant sections and started investigations.
