JAMMU, Sept 26: The dead body of a woman was found hanging this morning with a tree along Kalmo nallah near Chenab River in the jurisdiction of police station Gharota.
“The deceased has been identified as Geeta Devi (54) wife of Ganesh Dutt, resident of Mathwar”, a police official said, adding, the woman had left her home yesterday and since then she was not traceable.
He said today morning, her body was found hanging with a tree with the help of ‘dupatta’ along Kalmo Nallah near Garh temple. “It was not clear immediately whether it was a suicide or not”, he said, adding body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after getting conducted postmortem at Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor while Gharota police had taken cognizance of the matter.
