JAMMU, Mar 14: The famous community of Jasrotia warriors Biradari today released a book on the history of erstwhile Jasrota State authored by eminent writer and ex distinguished Officer of Indian Army Lt Col Joginder Singh Jasrotia.
The book besides the glorious past of the Jasrotia also covers heart rendering and touching incidents of the 1947 partition when the Muslim brethren parted from Jasrota and were so dearly and deligently cared for and protected by the brave Jasrotias ensuring their safe exodus to the new formed State of Pakistan.
Those left behind were absorbed and owned as family members, yet keeping their religious sanctity intact.
The book was released by chief guest Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, ex-MLC and president Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League.
Among other distinguished personalities were Retd IGP S S Jasrotia, Lt Col, J S Jasrotia, Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh and Sub Maj Mishambar Singh (Chief Organizer) Surinder Singh a scion from the erstwhile ruling family of Jasrotia dynasty also graced and occasion.
