JAMMU, Feb 26: The book ‘Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Concepts and Theories ‘ was released here today by Vinay Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police (ANTF) and Tarun Uppal, Founder and Chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation along with Inspector Sunil Jasrotia, Inspector Pervez Sajad, Bhupesh Gupta (MD and Owner Hotel Radisson Blu Jammu), M.K Koul (Social Activist), Aman Modi (Defence Consultant) and others.
The book authored by Dr. Rohit Koul-a well known author and philanthropist provides a comprehensive overview of CSR in Indian corporations.
Bringing together authors hailing from diverse walks of life including Prof (Dr.) Satya Subrahmanyam, Director Catholic University in Erbil; Ritu Koul, Director, Centre for Skills and Research and many others, the book pursues a ‘hands-on’ approach with real-world case studies and examples that help the reader feel the dynamic pulse of India immediately after the ratification of the CSR mandate in the Companies Act, 2013.
Speaking on the occasion Vinay Sharma said: “We should make combined efforts through Individual Social Responsibility and CSR to build a strong and prosperous India.”
Talking to reporters Dr. Koul said the book helps to reveal various layers of CSR in an emerging economy like India and is expected to spark debate, discussion and research among policymakers, consultants, academics, practitioners and other stakeholders the world over, which will further expand its contribution to CSR literature and open new vistas in CSR research.
