JAMMU, Dec 8: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (Regd) Jammu in collaboration with IPTA, Jammu, organized a literary event at KL Saigal Hall of  Cultural Academy where a Punjabi stories book titled ‘Shuruaat’,  written by Hardeep Singh Deep was released.
Dr Arvinder Amn, Additional Secretary, Cultural Academy was chief guest while  Vidya Ratan Assi,  a well known poet was the guest of honour and Khalid Hussain, a noted Punjabi short story writer presided over the function.
Devinder Vishavnagrik, president, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha extended a welcome to the guests and the audience. Speaking on the occasion he said that Sabha is committed for the promotion and development of Punjabi language. He said that the stories written by Hardeep Singh Deep are related to the life events and depict the soul of the characters playing various roles in the stories.
Papers were read by Dr Manojit and Dr Raj Kumar, well known Punjabi writers. Dr Monojit expressed his views on the contents and depiction of the themes of the stories published in the book. He said that the stories are the mirror of the society and depict various aspects of their life patterns.
Dr Raj Kumar expressed that the creativity of Hardeep lies in his craftsmanship of writing the stories. He said the writer has many times omitted details without affecting the main tempo of the movement of the events in these stories. He expected the writer to be able to work in future to give more such works of creativity in literature.
Khalid Hussain and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn also expressed their views on this occasion. A large number of intellectuals, writers, artists, theatre and film personalities attended the event.
