Book on Sharda Peeth hits stands

JAMMU, Aug 3: A book on Sharda Peeth titled ” Sharda – Tareekh ke aaine mein” authored by Raja Nazar Buniyari & foreword by Ravinder Pandita of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir was released at Srinagar in Kashmir today.
Save Sharda Committee chairman, Ravinder Pandita who, was invited by the organizers couldn’t be present but his message was read out by Bharti Harish, during release.
It is the first book on Sharda civilization brought out from Kashmir Valley on a historical Sharda Peeth that lies across LoC now. Notable amongst the speakers were Satish Vimal, broadcaster & author, Ex- MLC Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Historian & Professor in Department of Asian Studies Kashmir University Dr. Afaq Aziz, Urdu & Punjabi fiction writer Khalid Hussain, Chief Editor Voice of Hills, Zubair Qureshi and Chief Editor, Nagina Warsi Syed.
Vote of thanks was read out by the author of the book Raja Nazar, himself.
The Head of Save Sharda Committee Ravinder Pandita in his address again stressed the need of the reopening of Sharda Peeth in PoK on the lines of Kartarpur Gurudwara. He laid emphasis on preservation of culture and heritage and exploration of Sharda civilization.
