JAMMU, Oct 5: J&K Book Suppliers organized a webinar to discuss their problems.
Secretary Higher Education Deptt Sushma Chouhan; Director Colleges, Dr. Yasmeen Ashai and Principals of Nodal Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir provinces were also present in the webinar along with the concerned officers/officials of Higher Education Deptt to take a note of the highlighted problems.
Ruchi Chouhan Khan conducted proceedings of the webinar and she welcomed all the dignitaries on behalf of Book Suppliers and raised points regarding absence of a universal purchase procedure.
She said that the modus operandi adopted by various colleges is not in accordance with the Goods Office Committee/FPBAI.
Khan also said that percentage of discount is also not fixed and the Principals demand a high discount which makes the book supplier incapable to supply the textbooks relevant to the syllabus of the students and in this process the students suffer.
President of Book Suppliers Association, Sanjay Anand also highlighted problems of Book Suppliers.
Sushma Chouhan appraised the Book Suppliers about the order passed by the Govt in the year 2016 for the purchase of books through nominated purchase committee.
Ruchi Khan was representing Amazon Info-Tech Book Sellers and she is the only female in this trade in north India.
