Bookie racket busted, 4 held

JAMMU, Feb 22: Bakshi Nagar police today busted a bookie racket with the arrest of four persons from Shiv Nagar area near Sarwal.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Bakshi Nagar police station conducted a raid in a house at Shiv Nagar near Sarwal and arrested four persons involved in betting during the ongoing 2015 Cricket World Cup.
The accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Sham Lal, Pardeep Kumar, son of Dhani Ram and Anil Sharma, son of Sham Lal Sharma, trio residents of Shiv Nagar and Akash Singh, son of Kaka Singh, a resident of Toph Sherkhania.
The police team recovered one laptop, 9 mobiles, one printer and one TV from the spot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar police station Inspector Daleep Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Shri Ram Ambarkar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
