Books released at National Webinar

JAMMU, Mar 22: On valedictory ceremony of webinar series on Transgender Persons Act, 2019 and Rules, 2020 hosted by Amity Law School, Noida in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence, scholars from all parts of the country and abroad witnessed new perspectives in the existing gender discourse and the marginalization associated with ones’ positioning in a specific gender.
These perspectives were added by unraveling of two books in the virtual presence of Dr. R. Giriraj, Director, National Institute of Social Defence; Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Bandhopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School, Noida; Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Chauhan, Director, The Business School & Dean Students Placement, University of Jammu; Dr. Joshua Aston, Associate Dean of Law, School of Business and Law, Edith Cowen University, Western Australia; Aman Rajput, Joint Director, Union Ministry of Defence; Himanshu Verma, Employment & Social Media Expert, Dipika, National Capacity Building Trainer at One Stop Centre, Delhi; Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Tomer, Prof. (Dr.) Shefali Raizada, Prof. (Dr.) Arvind P. Bhanu, Addl. Directors, Amity Law School, Noida; Shweta Sehgal, Consultant, NISD; Aditya Prakash, Bihar Judicial Service, Satvik Sharma (NISD) and senior faculty members and students both within and outside the community.
The citation of the unraveled books was presented by Rupendra Singh, Assistant Professor, Amity Law School, Noida.
The first book ‘Women, Law and New Challenges: A Way Forward’ was a joint and collaborative effort of faculty members from The Law School, University of Jammu and Amity Law School, Noida. The book has been edited by Dr. Monica Narang, Associate Professor, The Law School, University of Jammu and co-edited by Dr. Amit Dhall, Dr. Nitan Sharma from Amity Law School, Noida and Sonam Prasher from Department of Law, University of Jammu.
This book is published by Redshine Publications based in UK (London).
The audience also witnessed the unveiling of second book ‘The Realization of the Transgender Persons Rights in India: A Socio-Legal Perspective’ authored by Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Tomer, Dr. Kartika Bakshi, Dr. Nitan Sharma and Dr. Sumitra Singh from Amity Law School, Noida.
