JAMMU, Apr 13: Acting on the complaint of student for overcharging by a trader on stationary items,Inspector Legal Metrology Jammu Pooja Kumari booked the stationary vendor in Nagbani school under the provisions of Weights & Measures Laws.
According to complainent, a class 7th student, purchased colour items from the supplier selling stationaty in the school premises marked with MRP of Rs 140 with sticker. When the students removed the sticker he found that the price has been smuged as the actual price marked by the manufacturer was. Rs 125.
The student made a complaint to Controller Legal Metrology for being cheated by the trader. Accordingly directions were issued to take action against the defaulter.
The inspector seized the remaining deceptive packages with the seller and issued memo to produce all the relevant bills for scrutiny.
