UDHAMPUR, June 26: Udhampur Police today arrested a bootlegger, who was illegally preparing and selling hooch at his house in village Jungle Gali, Tikri, Udhampur.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Gian Chand of Junglegali, Tikri.
Acting on a specific information, a team of PP Tikri, led by Inspector Jaswinder Singh, conducted a raid in the house of Ravi Kumar and recovered three litres of hooch and around 20 litres Lahan. Besides arresting the accused, Police seized the recovered hooch and destroyed the Lahan on the spot.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
