JAMMU, Mar 4: Police today arrested a bootlegger from holy town Katra and recovered 56 pouches of liquor from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Katra police station laid a naka at Myaari and intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JKO2AK-4696.
During checking, police recovered 56 pouches of liquor and arrested the bootlegger identified as Madan Lal, son of Ambo Ram of Jadha, tehsil Akhnoor.
A case under Excise Act has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
