REASI, May 12: Police today arrested bootlegger in Mahore and seized 40 pouches of liquor from his possession.
During patrolling duty at main bazaar Mahore, a Police team, headed by SHO Mahore, Inspector Salim Altaf Raina, succeeded in recovery of 40 poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the possession of Subash Singh of Thilloo.
In this connection, a case FIR No.26/2016 U/S 48-A Excise Act was also registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation of the case was in progress.
Meanwhile, seven persons were arrested for serving and consuming of liquor at a sweet shop near Bus Stand Reasi.
During the search, some used whisky bottles, used bottles of cold drinks etc were also recovered on the spot. In this connection, a case FIR No.69/2016 U/S 50/50-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
