UDHAMPUR, June 9: Ramnagar Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 80 pouches of illicit liquor, which were being smuggled by the accused in a car.
Acting on reliable information, a police party from Police Station Ramnagar, led by SHO Irfan Parvez, intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AH-5071, near Ramnagar Basantgarh road. During thorough search of the car, 80 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered. Police seized the illicit liquor as well as car and arrested the accused person, who was identified as Sanjay Kumar of Basantgarh.
In this connection, a case under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Ramnagar Police Station.
