JAMMU, Nov 19: Continuing the drive to check the smuggling of liquor in the holy town Katra, Railway Police Katra arrested a bootlegger and recovered 30 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, Railway Police apprehended a bootlegger along with 30 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Sat Pal Singh, son of Shankar Singh of Devi Bani, Manwal, district Udhampur.
A case under FIR number 8/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act and 188 RPC has been registered at police station GRP Katra and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO police station GRP Katra Inspector Shahzad Ahmed Khan made the arrest under the supervision of AK Mahajan, SSP Railways Katra.
