JAMMU, Aug 26: Police in Miran Sahib area here claimed that they have arrested a bootlegger and recovered 150 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
A police official said that during routine checking of vehicles below the Flyover Bridge near Ring Road, Miran Sahib, one car (JK02BJ-8325) was stopped for checking.
On search of the vehicle, he said, three cartons of JK Special Whisky of 180 ml each were seized from the possession of one Prithpal Singh of Simbal Morh, Basti Govindpura, Miran Sahib, Jammu.
He said the accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 85/2024 under section 48(a) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation taken up.
