Bootlegger held with illicit liquor

REASI, Nov 6: In its drive against smuggling of liquor, Reasi Police today apprehended a bootlegger and seized 35 poly pouches of J&K Excise liquor from his possession.
The accused, identified as Govind Singh of village Sujandhar in Bhamag tehsil, was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Reasi, Inspector J J Bhagat during patrolling at Bus Stand Reasi.
Total 35 poly pouches of J&K Excise liquor, including 31 of 250 ml each and 4 of 375 ml each, were recovered from his possession. A case under 48-A Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi.
Meanwhile, according to Police Station Bhawan in Katra, an unclaimed mobile phone was found by a Police Constable Kamal Singh while on duty at Bhawan. After an announcement in this regard was made, a pilgrim namely Pankaj Saini of Dumka approached the Police and informed that he had lost this mobile phone. After proper verification, Police handed over the phone set to its owner.
