JAMMU, Apr 18: Police claimed today that they have arrested a bootlegger and recovered 80 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession here at Gharota area of the District.
A police spokesperson said Sourav Sharma of Karwanda, Bhalwal, Jammu, was arrested with the illicit liquor by a team of Police Station Gharota led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal assisted by SHO Gharota Inspector Joginder Singh, during patrolling duty at Karwanda Chowk, Gharota.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 28/2023 under Section 48(f) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Gharota and further investigation taken up, he said.
