Border issues discussed in Indo-Pak flag meet

JAMMU: A Sector Commander level Indo-Pak flag meeting held today discussed border issues held at Octroi Post along International Border in R S Pura Sector here.

“A Sector Commander level flag meeting between BSF and Pakistan Rangers was held this afternoon on International Boundary on Pakistan side near BOP Octroi,” official sources here said.

They said that the BSF delegation was led by B S Kasana-DIG BSF Jammu and Brig Wasim Jafar Bhatti led the Pakistan Rangers’ delegation.

“During the meeting various important issue of International Border were discussed including Infiltration bid, suspicious movement across the IB, violation of sanctity of IB and illegal entry of Pakistan civilians in Indian territory, unwanted objections on maintenance of border infrastructures’ by Pakistan Rangers, burning of sarkanda on IB without prior intimation, digging of Tunnel, movement of Pakistani civilian and farmers during late night close to IB and hunting of wild animals during night etc.,” he added.

Sources said that BSF delegation reiterated strong protest with Pakistan Rangers about digging of Tunnel from Pakistan side into Indian territory which was detected by the BSF on International Border, on March 3 in R S Pura Sector. “Pakistan Rangers denied their involvement in the digging of tunnel but assured BSF delegation that all measures will be taken by them so that such incidents are not occurred in future,” they said.
