Srinagar, Oct 25: As the Government permits offline board examinations of class 10th and 12th, the JKBOSE today issued the date sheet for class 12 exams while making parental consent mandatory for the candidates to appear in each exam.
The board has at the same time directed those involved in the conduct of the exams to take necessary measures to ensure adherence to COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) during the examination.
The directions were earlier passed by the State Executive Committee (SEC) and have now been in toto issued by the JKBOSE in the date sheet that has been issued as per which, the exams for class 12th are set to begin from November 9 and is going to culminate in less than a month on December 4.
“The Superintendents shall allow only those candidates who are having consent for each examination duly signed by their parents/ Legal Guardians,” read the instructions passed by the JKBOSE in reference to the directives from the SEC.
It is to be noted here that off-line Board Examinations for 12th and 10th classes have been permitted by the Government to be held in a staggered manner keeping in view all the social distancing norms and CAB
The BOSE has directed all the Superintendents/Heads of Institutions of examination centres to ensure complete sanitization of desks, examination halls, rooms, toilets daily before and after the examination and strictly follow the SOPs issued by the Health Department from time to time.
“The seating arrangement should be made in such a manner that every second desk is left vacant to maintain physical distancing,” the guidelines stated.
The concerned officials have been directed to ensure that the staff tasked with the supervision of the exam is fully vaccinated.
“The HOI’s shall ensure that the supervisory staff and officials involved in the conducting of examination are vaccinated; there should be a thermal scanner, pulse oximeter, first aid boxes and hand sanitisers at the venue of the examination,” the directives stated.
It has been directed that during the conduct of the exam, the seating arrangement must be made in such a manner that every second desk is left vacant to maintain physical distancing.
Also, all the students appearing in the examination, it has been directed by the BOSE, must mandatorily be wearing masks and arrangement to this effect needs to be ensured by the concerned institution.
It also said that a separate facility must be provided to the students showing any symptoms like cough, common cold and flu.
The SEC had earlier stated that it shall be the responsibility of Board authorities and Head of the schools to ensure that the Covid protocols are strictly adhered to during the examination.  The JKBOSE officials told Excelsior that the guidelines are going to be the same for class 10 and their date will also be issued soon.
