JAMMU, Nov 16: A four-day State level workshop by the J&K Board of School Education for developing textual material of Dogri language for secondary classes, commenced here today
Prof Veena Pandita, Chairperson / Secretary BOSE, presided over the inaugural programme while Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, Director Academics, Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Assistant Director, BOSE and Dr Anuradha Sharma, Academic Officer, were in the presidium.
In her presidential address, Prof Veena Pandita said that main motive of this workshop is to amplify the Dogri language through the development of its textbooks. She also informed that the BOSE is developing, reviewing and revising textbooks in eight regional languages to meet the aspirations of the local people,
Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, Director Academics, in his welcome address, stated that some of the regional languages have been introduced as a compulsory subjects at secondary level and BOSE is making all efforts to make the curriculum, syllabi and text books updated as per the need of the hour.
Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Assistant Director, in his speech, stressed upon the development of syllabi and textbooks of Dogri in consonance with the guidelines of National Curriculum Framework-2005.
The participants included Dr Padam Dev Singh, Dr Rajesh Manhas, Dr Sushma Rani, Dr Sonam and Roshan Lal.
