JAMMU, Apr 1: The BJP Government at the Centre and PDP-BJP Government in the State has betrayed the youth of J&K by not fulfilling tall promises made with them before Parliament as well as State Assembly elections, resulting in fast growing alienation among youth.
This was stated today by former Minister and senior National Conference (NC) leader, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, while addressing a public meeting at Patniyal in Marh Assembly constituency.
Sadhotra said that BJP-PDP made tall promises with the people of youth to provide employment to two crore youth of the country every year but neither the youth of the country nor from the State got employment. “The tall promises made with youth have proved as hollow promises”, he added.
The former Minister said the educated youth of the State is frustrated and sense of neglect has housed their minds and hearts. “The BJP-PDP Government has no employment policy and absence of transparency in the recruitment in different Government departments has also created a sense of dupe by the Government”, he added.
“Even the youth who had adopted Government contractorship as the source of their earning, have not been getting regular payments of the works done during the last three years of the BJP-PDP Government in the State”, he said, adding, many self employment schemes have also been made defunct by the present dispensation.
The NC leader said even the labourers of the MGNREGA scheme have not been paid their wages for last many months and on the top of that Government is ignoring the genuine labourers and getting the works done mechanically which is grave violation of MGNREGA guidelines issued by Government of India.
Sadhotra said that rising alienation and frustration among the youth shall prove to be terrible for the Government. It is high time BJP-PDP Government should wake up from the deep slumber and make all out efforts to provide employment to the youth so that they could make their both ends meet and live respectful life.
