Bovine animals rescued, smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: Udhampur police today rescued seven bovine animals which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley.
Acting on the basis of reliable information, a Police Party of Police Station Kud headed by SHO Ajeet Singh, intercepted a Tata Mobile Vehicle bearing registration number JK03C/5651 near Karal Nallah Kud. Noticing the Police party, the driver of said vehicle tried to flee away along with the vehicle. The cops, however chased him and nabbed. Seven bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle for smuggling to Kashmir Valley. Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicle.
The arrested smuggler  has been   identified as Mushtaq Ahmed  son of  Mir Alam of  Kandoli Nagrota Jammu
In this connection, a case FIR number  31/2013 U/S 188 RPC 3 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 179/MV Act stands registered against the smuggler in Police Station, Kud.
