Bovine animals rescued, smuggler held

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued five animals and arrested one person in this connection.
Police has also seized the Tata Mobile vehicle JK02AN-1265, in which the bovine animals were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley. The vehicle was intercepted by Police during routine checking near Kud. Driver of the vehicle, namely Mohd Salim of Jagti Jammu, was arrested on the spot.
Accordingly a case under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Kud.
Meanwhile, in another success, Police arrested a bootlegger and seized 20 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession, here  today at  Manwal.
The arrested bootlegger has been identified as Sham Lal of Jindrah.
