Bovine smuggler, 2 bootlegger held

JAMMU, Sept 22: Police today arrested a bovine smuggler and 2 bootleggers from Magarkote area of district Ramban.
Police spokesman said that, Ramsoo police arrested a bovine smuggler Mir Hussain, son of Phakar Mohd of Neel, tehsil Banihal near Magarkote and recovered 8 bovine animals, which he was illegally carrying to valley.
A case has been registered against the bovine smuggler and investigation started.
Moreover, on getting information, police party from Ramsoo Police Station, laid a naka at National Highway near Magarkote and intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK14A-5910, which was on its way from Ramban to Banihal.
During checking, police recovered 126 punches of illicit liquor and arrested two bootleggers namely Atam Singh, son of Tej Ram of Mavalkote Sangaldan, district Ramban and Hem Raj, son of Swami Raj Sharma of Udhyainpur, District Doda.
A case under FIR number 61/12 has been registered at Ramsoo Police Station and investigation started.
