POONCH, Dec 4: Surankote police arrested a smuggler and recovered 26 bovine animals from his possession while his associate managed to escape from Bufliaz area late this evening.
Reports said a police naka party intercepted two persons carrying 26 bovine animals towards Mughal Road on foot. While one of them escaped another namely Abdul Rashid, son of Ali Mohd Dar, resident of Tota Morha, Thannamandi was held. He disclosed that animals were being carried to Valley and he had to transport them further in a truck. The police seized the animals and registered a case FIR No. 219/2013 against him.
