Bovine smuggling attempts foiled, 30 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: Foiling attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police rescued 30 bovines and seized three vehicles used for the smuggling.
Team of Police Station Majalta foiled two bovine smuggling bids and rescued 26 bovines, which were loaded in two trucks bearing registration number JK02AG- 6497 and JK02CA- 2385.
The trucks were intercepted at Battal nakapoint while drivers of both the vehicles managed to flee from the spot. In this regard, two cases FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Majalta.
Foiling another bovine smuggling bid, Police team of Police Post Tikri rescued four bovines, which were being smuggled in a pickup truck bearing registration numberJK19-677. Police also arrested the truck driver, identified as Mohd. Asif Ali, son of Mohd. Yaqoob, resident of UP, presently putting up at Bari Barahmana, Samba.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Rehambal.
