Bovine smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, Nov 16: Police today foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 animals near Purmandal Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal Police Station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Jasveer Singh laid a naka near Purmandal Morh and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14A-5419.
During search, police rescued 12 bovine animals, which were being illegally smuggled to Valley from Bari Brahmana.
A case under FIR number 159/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3PC Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and manhunt has been launched to arrest the bovine smugglers.
