Bovine smuggling bid foiled: 14 animals rescued

Rajouri, Jan 9 : The police in Nowshera sub division foiled a bovine smuggling bid, rescuing 14 bovines from two vehicles.
Reports said, during hours of Sunday, police station Dharamsal received an information that two vehicles are moving in suspicious conditions and are moving towards Solki naka after which team headed by SHO Neeraj Choudhary strengthened the naka to intercept both the vehicles.
However sensing police alertness, drivers of both the vehicles abandoned their vehicles at some distance from naka and escaped in roadside forests.
Both the vehicles were later found parked on road which were seized and fourteen bovine animals tied mercilessly in the vehicles were rescued.
Both vehicles JK11D 3052 and JK11E 7670 have been seized.
Two cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in police station Dharamsal.
