UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: Foiling another bovine smuggling bid, Police today rescued three animals and arrested two accused in this connection.
The accused, identified as Mohd Shafi of Barnote and Ashkoor of Barnote, were arrested by police at Tikri when the duo was smuggling three bovine animals in a Tata Mobile to Kashmir Valley.
Police rescued the bovine animals and also seized the vehicle JK19-1668.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police also arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the last two years. The accused, identified as Khurshid Ahmed of Bain Chenani, was wanted in case FIR number 32/2011 under Section 354/341/323 Act at Police Station Chenani.
