SAMBA, Sept 10: In continuation to its drive against bovines smuggling, district police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 15 animals and arrested a bovine smuggler at Rakh Barotian naka laid at NHW Vijaypur.
A police party of Police Station, Vijaypur, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka Rakh Barotian, NHW, Vijaypur today intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number PB06L-2513, which was coming from Punjab and moving towards Kashmir Valley.
During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused persons were identified as driver Amanual, S/o BarkatMassi of AliwalGurdaspur, Punajb has been arrested on spot.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to Gaushala at PS Ghagwal. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 155/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation taken up.
