Bovine smuggling bid foiled

SAMBA, Dec 24: Ghagwal police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 milch animals.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Ghagwal police station led by SHO Inspector Arun Sharma under the supervision of SSP Anil Magotra laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JKO2AK-6741.
On seeing the police party, the driver sped up the vehicle and tried to flee but was chased by the police team.
The driver of the vehicle hit the truck with a wall and fled away.
During checking, police recovered 12 bovine animals.
A case under Bovine Smuggling Act has been registered at Ghagwal Police Station and investigation started.
