JAMMU, Oct 15: Police in Jammu’s Nagrota area foiled a bovine smuggling bid today by rescuing 18 animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
A police official said that the animals were rescued from a vehicle (RJ14GF-8642) at Ban Toll Plaza naka. He said the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot but has been booked in case FIR number 273/2024 under sections 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act, and 5/52/54/56 of the Transport of the Animals Rule Act registered at Police Station Nagrota. Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
