Bovine smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, Apr 11:  Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued two animals.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur Mahesh Sharma laid a surprise naka on the National Highway near Jakhani and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02AS-5685. During through search Police found two bovine animals in the vehicle, which was on way to Kashmir.
Even as Police rescued the animals, driver of the said vehicle managed to flee from the spot. Police seized the vehicle and registered a case under section 188-RPC in this connection.
