UDHAMPUR, Aug 23: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued two animals and arrested the accused smuggler.
The bovines were being smuggled in a Tata 207 vehicle, bearing registration number JK02A-5636, which was intercepted by a Udhampur Police party, led by SHO Mahesh Sharma on the National Highway near Jakheni.
Police rescued the animals and arrested driver of the vehicle, whose identity was established as Zakir Hussain of Pranot Ramban.
A case in this connection was registered under Section 188 RPC.
