Bovine smuggling bid foiled

SAMBA, May 7: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, Samba police foiled a bovine smuggling bid after intercepting a vehicle (TATA Mobile) bearing Registration No. JK08C-2914 coming from Kathua side.
According to police the truck was carrying six bovine animals which were being illegally transported.  On seeing the police Naka at Ghagwal, the driver of the vehicle crossed the Naka. Thereafter, immediately message was flashed by Ghagwal Police to Samba Police who then laid a Naka at SIDCO Chowk headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba under the supervision of  Varinder Singh, DySP HQ Samba.
However the driver of the vehicle fled away leaving the vehicle at naka.  The police seized the vehicle and a case FIR No. 75/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act was registered at P/S Samba and investigation carried on. Police has launched a man hunt to trace the driver.
