RAJOURI, Sept 29: Budhal police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 24 animals from the possession of two smugglers.
According to a police official, a team from Khawas police post led by Sub Inspector Sudershan Lal under the supervision of Station House Officer Budhal Som Raj and Deputy SP PC (OPs) Imtiyaz Ahmed was on routine patrolling in Bhela Keri area of Khawas when movement of two smugglers along with bovines were noticed.
He said the smugglers were intercepted and 24 bovines were rescued from their clutches. “Both the smugglers namely Khadam Hussain and Naseeb Mohammad, both sons of Kesar Din, residents of Gundha Khawas, were arrested on the spot,” he added.
The official said that a case FIR No 80/2020 under Section 188/IPC 11 PCA Act was registered in this connection at police station Budhal and further investigation started.
