RAJOURI, Apr 24: The police foiled attempt of smugglers to smuggle five bovine animals in a Tata Mobile vehicle towards Mughal Road and arrested three persons in this connection at Thannamandi last night.
Reports said during naka last night, a Thannamandi police party under the supervision of SDPO S K Bhagat intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK-11A/1938 at around 11.30 pm and found five bovine animals being carried towards Kashmir via Mughal Road. The vehicle had been hired up to the point where the road is motorable.
The police seized vehicle along with five animals and arrested all the three persons including driver. A case FIR No. 46/2014 was registered against them. The accused are identified as Mohd Manzoor and Shabir Ahmed, sons of Mohd Sharief of Lah and Mohd Gafoor from Behrote.
