Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 3 smugglers arrested

KISHTWAR, July 14: The Kishtwar Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by arresting three smugglers and rescuing six cattle from their possession.
On reliable information regarding bovine smuggling from Sangrambhatta to Chatroo, a police party led by Deputy SP Headquarters, Kishtwar, Nihar Ranjan, laid a special Naka near Bhandarkoot on Kishtwar-Chhatroo-Srinagar Road where three persons with 6 bovines, moving in vehicles towards Chhatroo from Kishtwar side, were intercepted.
During checking by police, it was found that the bovines were being transported by smugglers without permission of DM.
The police arrested all the three accused on the spot. They were identified as Manzoor Ahmed son of Jamal Din of Guzarpul Chhatroo, Mohd Usman son of Ghulam Mohd of Hullar Kishtwar and Burhan Malik son of Ghulam Mohd Malik of Sewa Chatroo.
In this connection, Kishtwar police has registered a case FIR No 195/2018 under Section 188 RPC.
