Bovine smuggling bid foiled

UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: Udhampur Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid under the jurisdiction of Police Post Roundomail and rescued six bovines, which were being transported to Kashmir valley.
The bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CS- 3277, which was intercepted by a team of Police Post Roundomail, headed by PSI Rahul Jamwal.
On physical checking, police team found six bovines loaded in the said vehicle without any valid permission. Even as all the bovines were rescued, driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot by taking the advantage of heavy traffic on road.
In this connection, case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is in progress.
